What you need to know about the air filtration system and the SATA air vision 5000

Whether it is for the pulmonary health of technicians or for spraying paint, the quality of the air in bodyshops and paint booths remains a priority to deliver impeccable work, in complete safety.

But did you know that there are filtration and breathing systems that provide almost medical grade breathable air?

Although SATA is particularly recognized for its spray guns, this company also specializes in air filtration and breathing systems.

Discover the new SATA product line that maximizes the safety of bodyshop workers, while optimizing the quality of paint jobs thanks to air filtration and breathing equipment.

In the bodyshops and mainly in paint booths, the presence of contaminants can greatly affect air quality. Therefore, high-quality air filtration systems are essential to completely remove these contaminants from the working environment.

Air filtration for high quality spraying

The 484 triple-stage air filtration system (92320) remove condensation, oil residue and dust particles to a microscopic 0.01 micron ensuring Grade D air quality, and thus avoiding bad painting work and costly repairs.

When installed on the air line from the compressor, the three-stage modular coalescing filter units passes air through all three compartments before projecting almost medical grade breathing air.

The first level is used to separate the oil and water from the compressed air line. Contaminants are separated by cyclonic rotation, allowing oil and water to run down the inner walls, and are removed with an automatic condensation discharger.
Average life: 6 months

? The second stage is a fine particle filter which absorbs up to 0.01 micron oil vapors and water vapors, residues from the first filtration stage. After this level, the air quality is clean, but may contain last small particles that can affect the paint.
Average life: 6 months

The third step is an activated charcoal filter to absorb the last particles and removes oil vapor, taste, and odors to make the air breathable to 99.998%. Without this step, the air is not considered breathable.
Average life: 3 months

Although the charcoal filter is not mandatory in workshops and paint shops, it is nevertheless highly recommended. The activated charcoal filter helps eliminate the last contaminants that could primarily affect the spraying of water-based paints, which are more sensitive to contaminants than solvent paints.

Did you know that you absolutely must have a breathable air hose, from the filtration system to the hood, to have breathable and contaminant-free air?

After passing through the 3-stage filter, clean air passes through the regulator and then delivers a reasonable airflow to the hood and gun.

However, many shops will prefer to use the 2-stage filter 444 (92296) without activated charcoal. If, in this case, the technician does not have suitable filtration for breathing air, the use of the air carbon regulator (1000182) should be considered, always with the aim of eliminating all traces of contaminants in the air, while controlling the air flow to the hood and gun. Its integrated activated carbon cartridge therefore provides the painter with perfectly purified breathing air.

Respiratory protection, for maximum safety and comfort

Air filtration is an integral part of the quality of breathing for technicians in the bodyshop. With a completely redesigned breathing air supply system, the SATA air vision 5000 set (1005603) emphasizes effective health protection and offers a new and comfortable way to breathe. The kit includes the SATA air vision 5000 Niosh hood (1005596), the air regulator belt (1000223), as well as the standard air regulator (1000207).

With its modern, ergonomic design, the hood can be adapted to fit almost any head shape, allowing the individual adjustment of its effective circumference, height and position (height, diameter and depth).

The entire head is protected from the contaminated environment providing maximum health protection. This new concept of supplied air system therefore allows the user to obtain excellent respiratory protection, while offering a 180° field of vision. The hood contains an integrated rigid helmet, a cover to protect the neck and openings from paint fumes, as well as a mica (flexible protective film) to avoid the magnifying effects.

The user can easily adjust the belt according to their morphology or according to the accessories they want to use, such as the SATA air humidifier NIOSH (1000314), the air warmer (1007021) or the air cooler (1006990).

The SATA air vision 5000 kit (1005603) is therefore an excellent and vastly superior substitute for masks with conventional carbon filters, in addition to providing the technician with safe and quality breathing air.

Provide your technicians with absolute safety and air quality with clean filtered air from outside the spray booth.
